FAQ
What are your opening hours?
Our reception is open Monday to Friday from 8:30-17:30. For Members with 24/7 access, please make sure it is just you using your pass outside of our normal working hours. All doors are security-monitored with cameras and heat mapping technology.
How fast is the WiFi?
We have a 1Gb leased line, which means you should not notice any delay. It gives us 1000Mb upload and 1000Mb download speeds on our dedicated line. Plus our routers are protected with a firewall that is monitored 24/7.
Is printing extra?
There is a business-class printer at reception. Prices are 40p for colour and mono is free. All member plans have a free printing allowance.
Do I need headphones?
We know how divisive music can be in an office, but this isn’t just an office. Some open work areas will have music, and some will be quieter, so you can choose where to sit according to your taste.
Can I have guests?
Guests are welcome; you’re the ambassadors for your space, so please make them welcome. You, the member, must be in the space at all times with your guests. When a member has stayed longer than two hours, they need to purchase a day pass.
Can I bring my dog?
We welcome well-behaved dogs. Remember that some people don’t like dogs, so as long as they are leashed to your chair, don’t bark, get on with other dogs and people, then they’re welcome. If they distract members from working, they must stay at home.

Where it all started
We sat wondering why Bromley, with its rich cultural heritage, had nothing for creatives and we decided to try to change that.
A space with a purpose
Contingent Works exists because we want to help make Bromley a better place. Bromley has an amazing heritage, with former residents who have helped change the world, and yet often it feels like there is little to inspire the next generation of world-shakers.
We met when our children started at Raglan Primary school, the same school David Bowie went to for a year or two in the ‘50s. That friendship grew, and with our children now finishing university, we wondered what Bromley would offer them. For all the creatives, startups, home workers, and entrepreneurs, the obvious choice was to get on the fast train to London. We want to change that.
In curating a space near the high street that can showcase local talent while being backed by a sustainable cowork office, gallery, and production studio, we can engage with the local community, surface new ideas and talent, create business connections for startups, and make Bromley a thriving local hub of entrepreneurship.
